Prabowo: Indonesia’s Realistic Approach to Unity

Prabowo Subianto, the President of Indonesia, stressed the importance of national unity in the face of increasing global instability. During a Plenary Cabinet Meeting, he highlighted the complexities of the geopolitical landscape since the start of his administration on October 20, 2024. Prabowo mentioned various ongoing crises globally, including in Ukraine, Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, and tensions between Israel and Iran, India and Pakistan, as well as the political crisis in Myanmar and tensions between Cambodia and Thailand in Southeast Asia. He also noted the uncertainty in the global economy due to new tariff policies from the United States. However, Prabowo expressed confidence in Indonesia’s ability to overcome these challenges, attributing it to the strength and unity of the government’s economic team. He commended the team’s efforts and highlighted Indonesia’s negotiation-focused approach to protect national interests amidst global turbulence. Prabowo emphasized the importance of remaining calm, pragmatic, and united as a nation to achieve the best outcomes under current conditions.
