Prabowo Subianto Gratefully Completes Leg Surgery, Thanks Indonesian Medical Team

Jakarta – The President-elect of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 term, Prabowo Subianto, has expressed his gratitude and pride towards the Indonesian medical team responsible for the successful surgery on his leg. He shared his feelings in a post on his personal Instagram account @prabowo on Sunday (June 30).

“Good evening everyone, I give thanks to Allah SWT and express my gratitude to the medical team led by Brigadier General (Ret.) Dr. Robert Hutauruk, Colonel Dr. Sunaryo, Dr. Siska Widayati, assisted by Dr. Thomas, and all the nurses and medical personnel at the RSPPN Sudirman for the success of the major surgery performed on me,” said Prabowo.

The hospital where the surgery was performed was officially inaugurated in February by President Joko Widodo and Prabowo. It is under the supervision of the Ministry of Defense, renovated and equipped by Prabowo along with 25 other military hospitals.

Prabowo revealed that the long-standing injury was caused by two parachuting accidents during his active duty in the Indonesian National Armed Forces.

“As many are aware, I experienced two parachuting accidents while serving in the military in the 1980s, affecting my left leg, an injury that I have continued to feel,” he explained.

He also acknowledged the risks and life-threatening nature of the medical procedure he underwent but reassured himself that it was necessary.

“All of this is for the country and the nation. I am confident that the medical team and all the medical personnel handling it are skilled and professional.”

Prabowo stated that the successful surgery took place a week ago and he is now ready to resume his activities.

“God willing, with my health restored, I am more prepared than ever to serve and dedicate myself to the country and the people of Indonesia. Thank you to everyone for their prayers and support,” he concluded.
