Prabowo Subianto, the Indonesian Minister of Defense and President-elect for the term 2024-2029, performed the Eid al-Adha 1445 H prayer at the Nurul Wathan Mosque located in Padepokan Garuda Yaksa, Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday (17/6).
Prabowo arrived at the Nurul Wathan Mosque dressed in a white koko shirt and black peci (cap). As he entered the mosque, Prabowo greeted the local residents.
He then quickly entered the mosque and headed to the front row to perform the Eid al-Adha 1445 H prayer, which started at 07:00 WIB (West Indonesia Time).
After performing the prayer, Prabowo again greeted the residents and exchanged handshakes.
“Sir, Happy Eid al-Adha,” said the residents to Prabowo.
The locals, including women and children, were enthusiastic about taking photos with Prabowo.
“Salim, sir,” said the children to Prabowo.
“Salim,” replied Prabowo as he hugged and kissed the foreheads of the children present.
On this Eid al-Adha 1445 H, Prabowo drew inspiration from the exemplary stories of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail, emphasizing sacrifice and the distribution of meat to those in need to bring happiness and optimal nutrition.
This year, Prabowo sacrificed a total of 145 cows distributed across various regions. Eighty-nine cows were distributed to ulama, habaib, Islamic mass organizations, Islamic boarding schools, and Mosque Prosperity Councils (DKM).
At his residence in Hambalang, 38 cows were slaughtered and distributed to the local community. Meanwhile, at the headquarters of the Gerindra Party, there were 20 cows and 5 goats.
