In Serdang Bedagai, on July 30, 2025, heartfelt emotions filled the room as Aslina shared her remarkable transformation story. Working at the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in Cempedak Lobang, Sei Rampah, a short distance from her home, she expressed her deep appreciation for the program that completely changed her life. Standing alongside regional leaders such as Hasan Nasbi and North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution, Aslina tearfully thanked the President for the profound impact the program had on her daily life.
Prior to joining the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, Aslina was a devoted homemaker with no source of income, while her husband worked as a laborer with limited earnings. Now, she plays a crucial role in preparing healthy meals for school children in her community, bringing a new sense of hope into her life. Normawati, another participant, also emphasized how the opportunity to earn extra income close to home has been invaluable in supporting her family, especially her school-going children who benefit from the nutritious meals provided by the MBG program.
The positive impact of the program goes beyond just housewives, as exemplified by the story of 21-year-old Shinta Ramadana. Previously unemployed, she now enthusiastically works in food preparation, embodying the empowering spirit nurtured by the MBG Program. These women, including Aslina, Norma, and Shinta, among many others nationwide, have discovered employment opportunities and renewed hope through this initiative, as reported by the National Nutrition Agency.
