President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of setting a good example for newly commissioned officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri). In a ceremony held at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, he urged the officers to internalize the oath they had just taken and see it as a solemn commitment to serving the nation and its people. The President reminded them that their oath should not be just a formality, but a living manifestation of integrity and willingness to sacrifice for the country.
He highlighted the great responsibility that now rests on their shoulders, including the protection of Indonesia’s sovereignty and the safety of its people. President Prabowo also reflected on Indonesia’s history of struggle for independence, emphasizing the need for strength and readiness to face challenges and threats.
As the sworn oath was taken before Almighty God and the people of Indonesia, the President called on the young officers to live by their pledge and be prepared to serve, dedicate, and if necessary, sacrifice for the nation. The ceremony aimed to instill a sense of duty, honor, and commitment in the newly commissioned officers as they embark on their roles in safeguarding Indonesia’s security and sovereignty.
