Prabowo Indonesia Business Leaders Brazil Visit Plan

President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, expressed his enthusiasm for the plan of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to bring hundreds of Brazilian entrepreneurs to Indonesia. The statement was made following a bilateral meeting between Prabowo and Lula at Palácio do Planalto in Brasília. Prabowo warmly welcomed the initiative, emphasizing its potential to enhance cooperation between the two nations, particularly in trade and investment, leading to tangible outcomes. In the meeting, Prabowo highlighted the shared interests and vast potential for economic relations between Indonesia and Brazil, given their large populations, abundant natural resources, and biodiversity. He acknowledged the need to move beyond mere cooperation agreements on paper and focus on meaningful collaboration that can benefit both countries. Prabowo also expressed admiration for Brazil’s advancements in agriculture and bioenergy, expressing Indonesia’s interest in learning from their success. He appreciated Lula’s support for Indonesia’s plans to send technical teams to study Brazil’s innovations and agricultural technologies, recognizing the value of such knowledge exchange. Apart from his state visit to Brasília, Prabowo attended the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro during his visit to Brazil. President Lula is expected to visit Indonesia in October, where Prabowo mentioned they would prepare a grand birthday celebration for Lula’s upcoming 80th birthday.
